More than 15 years ago, we started developing IoT solutions, even before the term IoT hit the market. As we spent more time in the field, as a team we discovered that astonishing levels of operational inefficiencies were crippling healthcare. Most of these inefficiencies were caused by a lack of accurate data for hospital processess, and billions were lost to excessive costs, every year. It was worse for the patients: During a cardiac arrest occurring inside a hospital, vital seconds were being lost just finding a defibrillator, time the patient frequently does not have.
